Looking at Lunches

On Tuesday, we kept all the waste from our lunches to analyze. Here is a movie of our investigation...

Our All About Teeth Book

In health, we are learning about dental health and how to take care of our teeth. After reading some books about teeth, the children represented their learning by creating an image and text about teeth using the KidPix program. Here are all of the pages combined into a class e-book. Click on the link to enjoy our book.

Day of Pink

Today is Day of Pink. We wore pink to show that we don't bully.  We don't like bullies and we will use our WITS if someone bothers us.  We read a book about filling buckets.  You can fill a bucket with kindness, like saying nice words, doing nice things or smiling.  Bullies are bucket-dippers, but we are bucket-fillers in Room 8!

Spring News

1) With the arrival of spring weather and puddles, we often have students who have gotten wet on the playground. Can you please ensure that you have dry clothes available for your child to change into in case of an accident? Many thanks!

2) We have started our spelling program again and will work to complete the last few levels over the next month. We will then spend the remainder of the year ensuring mastery of these words and focusing on common spelling patterns.

3) Family Fun Night invitations have been sent home. We look forward to a great night of learning and having fun with the children and their families on Wed. April 17th. Please RSVP by Friday, April 12th.

4) Field Trips - We will be going on 3-4 field trips in May and June. If you would like to join the class, please contact the office to complete your safety checks soon as they take some time to process. Our full day field trip to the Assiniboine Park/Zoo is scheduled for June 20th.

Spring!

While we are waiting for the snow to melt and the warm weather to come, we are creating signs of spring indoors.  The children created adorable birds in nests during a recent art lesson that now are displayed on our bulletin board.
