Fairy Tales
We are engaged in a study of fairy tales and are learning about the characteristics of these stories. Each day, we write a different response to the story read aloud. After reading Goldilocks and The Three Bears, the children pretended they were Goldilocks and wrote apology letters to the bears. With our buddies, the children participated in a STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) challenge to build a new chair for Baby Bear using only 1 piece of paper, 1 coffee filter, 3 straws, a 60 cm piece of string and a 20 cm piece of tape. The chair had to hold up Baby Bear (which was a can of soup) or baby bird. How fun!
