100 Days of Learning
Today we celebrated 100 days of learning in Grade One. The students learned a poem and a song about 100 Day. The licked a lollipop 100 times and did 100 exercises. They walked through the halls to see where 100 steps would take them. Structures and patterns of 100 items were created. They all made and decorated 100 Day glasses. They read 100 books and wrote 100 words. Finally they used the Aging Booth app to see what the children would look like when they were 100 and they wrote about their life at that age. Happy 100 Day!!!

Our Senses
We have been learning about our 5 senses. They are sight, hearing, taste, touch and smell. We have been doing experiments in class to learn about our senses. Today we did an experiment with our eyes. We learned that when it is dark, our pupils get big because they are trying to get more light. When we are in bright light our pupils get smaller because they don't need as much light.
We think it is "very fun, awesome and cool" to be scientists!

Day of Play
Room 8 had a wonderful day of play! Robert thought it was so fun to play with all of our friends! Teagan noticed everyone was playing nicely.
When asked what we were learning while playing, Mackenzie said she was "learning math while playing games."
Chantel said we were learning about "playing fair and sharing."
William thought we were being creative!
Addison said we were learning how to cooperate.
Julie and Mikey thought we were learning to be helpful and kind.
In the wise words of Kylie, "You never know what you can discover when you are playing!"
