We are very happy to announce that one of our eggs has hatched! Little Stevie arrived yesterday at about 5:15 after school. The students had heard him cheeping
in his egg during the day and were so excited to meet him this morning!

Field Trip to Assiniboine Park
Sorry for the late post! Here are a few photos from our field trip last week to Assiniboine Park. The children were able to see evidence of life cycles in nature by observing new and older goslings, as well as some ducklings. They had a great deal of fun exploring the Nature Playground. A trip to Sargent Sundae was a perfect way to end a memorable afternoon!

Hoop Dancer
We had the privilege to enjoy an incredible presentation by Shanley Spence, a professional hoop dancer. Her dress was beautiful and the jingles from her dress and boots made such a lovely sound. We were surprised that Shanley was a student at Linwood School when she was younger. What a performance!
Growing up
The children have been able to witness both a complete, 4- stage, metamorphosis by observing our caterpillars turn into butterflies and an incomplete, 3-stage, metamorphosis as our tadpoles developed into frogs. We gave our butterflies the gift of freedom yesterday so they could fly in the blue sky and taste the nectar of flowers. If you see a Painted Lady butterfly near your house, it might be one of our friends! Our frogs are ready to explore their new home at Truro Creek. We will be releasing them next Tuesday.
