Puff Party

Today we had our Puff Party. Each day at Daily 5, we earned puffs for starting right away, doing our work and working quietly. When the jar filled with puffs, we got our Puff Party.

We played Put the puff on the polar bear.
Then we jumped up and down and wiggled around.

We made a Congo line.

We had a snack!
What a fun Puff Party! Great work Grade 1s.

Special Guest

Today, Kyle from The Living Prairie Museum, came to our class to talk with us about Manitoba animals in the winter. We already knew lots of information about animals that hibernate, torpor, migrate and stay active. We played a guessing game where we had to guess an animal by its tracks in the snow and the sound it makes. We also got to touch real animal furs, as well as bison horns, a bison hoof and deer antlers!

Book Creator App

This afternoon we began learning how to use the app called Book Creator. We can take photos, add text and even make audio recordings on each page. We explored the app to see how to resize images, change the colour of the text and how to delete objects. Once we have practiced more, we will be ready to make real iBooks with this app!
